Where are we? COVID-19 USA Map with focus on Indiana (as of June 24, 2020)

In looking at COVID-19 in Indiana, it is first vital to understand where we currently stand compared to other states.

Indiana has a population of approximately 6.73 million people. As of June 24, there are estimated to be 60,598 cases and 2,884 deaths of COVID-19 in Indiana so far. The map showcases the COVID-19 case rate of Indiana compared to other states across the U.S., with darker blue indicating a higher case (incident) rate. Case rate is defined as cases per 100,000 persons. It appears that based on the map below, we stand near middle of the pack on case rate in the country (#28 based on case rate in the country). Indianapolis is the capital of Indiana and indicated via a red circle.
