Where are we headed? COVID-19 in Indiana Counties and the State Gov. response (as of June 24, 2020)
Why focus on Marion County first? Marion County holds the city of Indianapolis (the capital of Indiana) and represents the most populated county in Indiana, with a population approaching one million (964,582 as of 2019).
COVID-19 case diagnoses peaked in Marion County on May 5th at 305 cases with deaths peaking most recently on May 20th at 16 deaths (as shown below).

- Event A: On March 16, Indiana's governor ordered all bars, restaurants, and nightclubs to close to in-house patrons. On March 19,
State of Emergency was to be extended for another 30 days,
all K-12 schools (both public and private) were to remain closed, order prohibiting evictions and foreclosures, and utilities prohibited
from disconnecting services. Extensions for income taxes and property taxes.
- Event B: On March 23, issues stay at home order effective March 25 to April 7. Non-essential businesses ordered to close or allow
employees to work from home. Public gatherings limited to 10 people.
- Event C: On April 2/3, education superintendent announced that all K-12 schools would provide remote instruction for remainder of 2019-2020 school year and governor extended stay at home order two weeks.
- Event D: On May 1, governor announced five-stage Back on Track Plan.
